Tell me what your vision is and I'll tell you what kind of leader you are

Visualize, don't just look!

Seeing is examining, paying attention, fixing your gaze on an objective and giving it importance. That's why you need to sharpen your vision. Your vision will determine how far you'll go.

You've surely heard "visualize your future" many times and it may have seemed like a cliché phrase, but let me tell you that your business's success depends on that phrase.

Having a clear picture of what you want is nothing less than an advantage when it comes to launching a business idea or giving your company a positive turn. Because improvising as you go is simply flying blind.

And when your vision fails, your strategy fails, your efforts to reach a goal fail, and you end up frustrated, falling into a hole, and your project collapses.

So let me be direct: if you want to be a leader with a productive team that reaches its objectives, wins over prospective customers and generates income, you must focus your energy on a vision that's as clear as water and as specific as mathematics, so you don't lose yourself in the details.

So, it will help to create a vision board, where you express that near future your company wants to reach, and it can serve as a map to redirect your steps and lead you to the treasure you long for.

A vision board is a panel made up of images, colors, phrases or words that represent what you want to be, feel, do or have in your life. It will help you remember why you're working so hard, and therefore will be a source of motivation and give you strength to keep going.

Remember that the road to business success is arduous, and motivation is necessary. Your vision is your motivating fire, and you must keep it alive, always.

That's why you must plan ahead, have a sustainable vision, and create a vision board that prophetically depicts the triumphs you'll achieve.

As an entrepreneurial leader, your vision board should be based on:

  • What product to offer, which customers to attract and how.
  • What position it will hold in the market.
  • What strategies to use and how they'll be carried out.
  • What benefits the team will have and what benefits the consumers will have.

A good leader with vision is one who carries out challenges with a proactive spirit, one who inspires the achievement of goals, one who pushes themselves to bring out the best in themselves and their team.

Visualize yourself big, and big you shall be.
