Want greater professional growth? Say thank you!

December 1, 2022 · Angela Cruz

To be grateful is to empathize, to reconcile, to progress.

When you say thank you, you connect with the other person from a place of love, and love should be present in everything — that's why you should give thanks for everything you do or that others do for you.

When love shows up in your business, it opens a door toward the success of your venture. Have you heard that saying about how everything that starts badly ends badly, and everything that starts well ends well? Well, gratitude has a lot to do with that.

Arrogance is the enemy of growth and success. Not having the capacity to give thanks holds you back. If you're the head of a business and you think that being arrogant will make you an authority figure to your team and make them more productive, you're mistaken.

At work you should develop a firm personality, yes, but one that's full of happiness, and happiness stems from mental well-being. When you're at peace with your emotions and your ideas are channeled into the right energies, you'll be capable of being grateful and you'll gain your team's effective support.

Everyone who works in any given field deserves to be thanked. Their work is an effort in service of a vision; every skill devoted to a business idea is valuable, a tremendous support that benefits the business in question. Without a team's effort, there is no dream fulfilled.

A grateful person is one who is satisfied with their life, their friendships, their family. That's why I keep coming back to emotional and mental well-being — no one can lead anything if they aren't first at peace with who they are. Looking inward, healing wounds, and correcting mistakes is essential if you want to position yourself as a leader.

When you're grateful, you attract hope and optimism, and your self-esteem grows stronger. When you recognize the effort and talents of your team, believe it or not, you're strengthening yourself as well.

A thank you is one more step up; a thank you is an injection of positivity; a thank you smooths the way, eases tension, and creates more productive work environments. Giving thanks makes you a better leader.

Being a grateful leader means appreciating the non-material aspects of life. You have to make the effort to recognize that your team plays an important role in your emotional and professional well-being.

Gratitude is an emotion strongly tied to mental health, there's no doubt about it. It's also linked to optimism and self-esteem, and it strengthens social relationships, making us more capable and giving us the ability to achieve self-awareness and self-management.

Do you want to be a leader who reaches goals and produces successful results? Yes? Then you must maintain assertive communication, define your objectives while involving your team, and recognize and reward their achievements. Be grateful that you have all of their strengths and abilities working in your favor.

Always be grateful, because to give thanks is to inspire.
